Day 182 Attack Fear

And Moses said…Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show you today.” Exodus 14:13

Life simply presents itself with issues that can cause fear if we let it take hold.

The economy brings fear of losing our investments.

Our health issues bring fear of major illness.

Job concerns bring fear of cutbacks.

Family relationships bring fear of rejection or hurt feelings.

What sorrow or difficulty brings fear to your heart?

I have a solution for you.

God’s Word encourages us to stand still. We can trust God to help us remain calm in the midst of the storm.

Laughter and Love – two great weapons against fear.

As we face the challenges of the day, how can we sharpen our weapons of warfare against fear?

Just like Jesus, we can use the Sword of the Spirit – the Word of God. Taking Scripture and speaking it aloud to our fear will make it turn tail and run.

God Bless Your Heart with Love and Laughter

Day 65 Love and Laugh

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Lighten up!

The best way to be Jesus to the people in our sphere of influence is to love and to laugh.

There is nothing better than a good laugh. I absolutely love the sound of my two boys laughing.

When Zane was about four months old we bought a video camera and filmed him giggling. Every time we played the video tape he giggled even harder. At the end of a long day of work the laughter was just the right medicine.

My BFF – Jeanne Nystrom brings laughter to my life too. I love the way she shares her creative gifts and brings out the smiles of the people she influences. Her love and laughter plants seeds of joy.

My friend and counselor – Karen Bartsch is another person who brings love and laughter into my life. She is absolutely hilarious. I marvel at the way she can speak the truth in love and use humor to help me understand what I need to do. Sometimes life isn't so funny but Karen is able to help me laugh.

I need these women in my life because I tend to be too serious.

When we lighten up and share our love with laughter, the hard soil of another's heart is plowed free of hurt and bitterness and the seed of love is allowed to grow.

Make someone laugh today.

God Bless Your Heart,

Gigi

The idea for this blog post came from the March 6 devotional in "God Calling" by AJ Russell.

I leave you with a link to a YouTube video of one of my favorite comedians. I'm excited to hear him speak again at the Northwest Ministry Conference coming this month at Overlake Church in Redmond, WA. I'll be there at our booth for Gabriel's Foundation of HOPE and also doing a workshop for the Northwest Christian Writer's Association.
